Right side view of a female Cryptocandona brehmi, length 0.85mm. This species was first discovered in a cave in Nagano Prefecture, Japan and described in 1934. The next report of this species was 77 years later in 2011 from a spring-fed pond in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. In 2012 a specimen was reported from a small seep in South Korea.
