Habitat: From Japan reported from rice fields (Okubo 2004; Tanaka et al. 2015). Elsewhere known from small, stagnant water bodies, the littoral zones of lakes, swamps, and slow streams and rivers (Meisch 2000).
Mode of life: Nektobenthic (swimmer).
Reproduction mode: Asexual, males unknown.
Known distribution: In Japan, reported from Shiga Prefecture, Kumamoto Prefecture (Okubo 2004) and Shizuoka Prefecture (Tanaka et al. 2015). Elsewhere, known from the Azores, the Canary Islands, North Africa, Europe, Iran, central Asia, South Africa and South America (Meisch 2000).
