Graduated from Niigata University's agricultural Department in forestry and from April 1982 became a Shiga Prefectural employee (technical officer). Joined the Lake Biwa Museum in April 2010.

   Specialty
1) Utilization of ligneous resource, such as firewood and charcoal.
2) Preservation of 'satoyama' activities.
3) Forest environmental education.
