Animated Display of "Biwako-Das" Wind Data
You can view the wind records observed at 10 "Biwako-Das" observatories
and at the Lake Biwa Museum.
The observatories established a system of observation, data exchange,
and exhibition as a part of the "Biwako-Das" project.
The management of the system is entrusted to
the Society of Environment Education around the Lake Biwa Region.
The animated display system was developed by members of the society
using Java programming language.
"Biwako-Das" is a project promoted by
the Society of Environment Education around the Lake Biwa Region.
The society surveys meteorology in the region
both with the geophysical and folklore methods,
and also the application of the meteorology in a social context,
e.g., school education and leisure activities.
Project members include people from various disciplines,
such as university researchers, school teachers,
staff of a waterfowl center, and the owner of a sailing school.
